When we launched Geektrust ASSEMBLE, we knew we were addressing real challenges in the hiring and upskilling space like scaling interviews, maintaining consistency, and giving candidates actionable feedback. But it’s not every day your first paying customer shares how it fits right into their workflow.
We spoke to Kiran, Head of Engineering and Curriculum at Crio.do, an experiential learning platform that helps tech professionals upskill and land better roles. Here’s how they’re using AI to transform mock interviews, and what it’s been like working with Geektrust.
“We had to scale interviews without compromising on quality”
Kiran’s team had been running mock interviews in-house for students as part of their placement prep. But as Crio scaled, it became harder to ensure quality and consistency across interviews.
“The challenges were clear – scaling interviews, keeping them consistent, and giving students constructive feedback in a clean format. ASSEMBLE helped solve all three.”
At first, there was natural hesitation especially among students more comfortable speaking with a human. But over time, the AI Interviewer became a feature they could pitch with confidence.

Crio’s learners now use the AI Interviewer across three key tech stacks:
- Frontend (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- QA Automation (Java + Selenium)
- Backend (Java + Spring Boot)
Each stack simulates real-world interviews, combining technical questions with in-browser coding environments.
“Students no longer have to wait for an interviewer to be available. They get feedback immediately. And the report clearly tells them where they stand and what to work on.”
Internally, Crio’s team sees value too especially when it comes to identifying strong candidates to refer to hiring partners.
“When Geektrust says a candidate is good, they really are. The reports help us recommend the right learners to the right companies with confidence.”
“If I were hiring, I’d use this for round one”
When asked if he’d use the ASSEMBLE or hiring, Kiran was quick to say yes.
“There are just too many candidates today. Interviewing each one 1:1 isn’t scalable. The AI Interviewer helps with solid first-round filtering.”

Crio and Geektrust have collaborated across multiple touchpoints from coding challenges and curriculum integrations to the latest AI offering. What stood out?
