Get feedback on your coding skills

Update: We have stopped manually reviewing code. Instead the ML based tool we developed, Codu, will be used for evaluation. We have also created very detailed resources here to help you. Together, Codu and the help docs will replace the manual review and feedback process.

Yup, if you solve any of our coding challenges, we will go through your code and tell you what’s good in your code and what’s bad. Help you understand where you stand from a coding skill perspective. And no, this it not a competition. There is no leader board. This is just you and your code. No comparison with others.

Why do we do this? What’s in it for us, you ask? Well, nothing immediate but we hope that when you do decide to change jobs, you do it through us. We have some awesome companies who hire through us, you see.

Now, back to your feedback — we create interesting coding challenges that test your fundamentals — how good is your object modelling, how readable is your code, is it extensible, how is your usage of data structures etc.. You can see all the badges and parameters here. And you can write code in any language of your choice. We currently support full stack, backend and frontend developers.

Now who gives you feedback? Who are these people, and can you trust them?

We have senior developers who give you feedback on your code:

  1. Dhanush Gopinath — 14 years of development experience working with Java, Golang, NodeJS, Python & javascript frameworks. Dhanush has worked with Tech M, Altair Engineering, ESPN Cricinfo, Beyond Bytes and now CTO at Geektrust.
  2. Clair Mary Sebastian — 11 years of development experience working with Java, C#, Ruby, Golang, NodeJS & & javascript frameworks. Clair spent 10 years at ThoughtWorks before joining Geektrust.
  3. Alok Simha — 12 years of development experience working with C#, Java, Golang, NodeJS & javascript frameworks. Alok spent 11 years at ThoughtWorks before joining Scripbox and now Geektrust.

As you can see, we have a pretty senior team, and we do our best to give feedback that is useful to you. Helping you understand where you stand from your career perspective is what we do at Geektrust — this includes showing you what potential salary you could earn, which companies would be interested in hiring you, and feedback on your skills. Use Geektrust, stay job aware!

We’ve given feedback to 200+ developers so far, seen some really fantastic code, and helped people improve their code a fair bit with our feedback.

So go on, take a shot at solving any one of our coding challenges, and we promise you feedback. If you’d like to discuss our coding challenges or have questions, do join our slack channel. Send a mail to devs@geektrust.in with ‘add to slack’ in the subject and I’ll send you an invite.

So go on write code and we’ll help you improve your coding chops with our perspectives and input. Cheers!
